Robinson River
The Robins River is known fo rits good fishing, and is one ofthe best arctic char rivers in Greenland.
The river is good for both fly and spin fishing, with sevaral good pools. Depending on the season and especially rainfall, it can vary where in the river there are the most fish, so it can be right down by camp or far up the river the best fishing is.
The best information about the river you can find on youtube, try searching for "Robinson River Greenland", then lots of videos will appear from anglers who have been there over the years.
The arctic char is typically 1-3 kg, and with individual fish around 5 kg.
Cod we fish in the fjord is typically 1-5 kg, but can be +10 kg, so if it`s somthing you want to try while you`re here. it requires a bit more robust equipment. We do, however, hav ehandlines with jigs that you can borrow.
In july there will typically be locals living in tents on the otherside of the river, they take the whole familythere to fisk for arctic char in the fjord. They dry and smoke arctic char for winter storage.
From 1 august, there are caribou and musk-ox hunters in the area, so you can often buy or trade for some meat if you are tired of fish. So a little danisk cash in smaller bills is always a good idea.
